Dr. Mohammad Naraghi is IBM’s Global Healthcare Industry Leader at Global Business Services Unit (GBS). In this capacity, he is in charge of developing the global business in Healthcare and building and expanding IBM’s relationships with its clients. He has rich experience gained from almost 20 years in the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry. Prior to joining IBM, Dr. Naraghi worked for Siemens AG and McKinsey & Company.
At Siemens, Dr. Naraghi was a member of Siemens Healthcare’s Global Executive Committee. As Senior Vice President of Global Corporate and Business Development, he was responsible for strategy and M&A, strategic planning for all Healthcare business units (i.e. products and services in diagnostic imaging, radiation therapy, Healthcare IT and hearing aids), and alliance and innovation management. He was also CEO of Siemens Diagnostics, Inc., the laboratory diagnostics business unit of Siemens Healthcare, which he led through three major acquisitions and their global post-merger integration in 50 countries in 2006 and 2007.
At McKinsey & Company, Dr. Naraghi led various strategic consulting projects for corporate and business units. These included product and sales strategy as well as operations, performance improvement and organizational change projects for many Healthcare (Payors and Providers), Life Sciences and Medical Technology clients in Europe, the United States and Asia Pacific.
Dr. Naraghi was educated in Germany, Austria and the United States. He has degrees in Mathematics (MA) and Medicine (MD) - both from Germany - as well as an advanced degree in Computations and Neural Systems (MSc) from the California Institute of Technology where he finished a PhD in Physiology and Biophysics under the direction of a Nobel Laureate.
