Panel: Consumer Benefits: How Wireless and IT are Changing the Care Paradigm
Dave Watson is a veteran executive with over 25 years of delivering results in IT and business operations across a variety of healthcare companies. His IT experience broadly includes application development, infrastructure engineering and operations, business process improvement, and strategy/architecture development. Dave joined MedeAnalytics from Kaiser Permanente in 2007 and provides leadership over IT, product engineering, product management, and client service. Previously, Dave served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Kaiser Permanente. He was the prime architect of the KP HealthConnect™ initiative that produced one of the most successful large scale clinical system deployments in the world. In addition, his responsibilities included technology strategy, systems architecture and information security services across Kaiser’s hospitals, medical groups, and insurance businesses; serving nearly nine million members in nine states, and employing over 140,000 people. Prior to Kaiser, Dave served in a variety of executive IT roles in the Life Sciences sector at Baxter Healthcare and at Allergan, Inc. Before his tenure in healthcare, Dave held IT leadership roles for recognized industry leaders such as Northrop Grumman and Mattel. Dave is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School’s Executive Development Program and holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Southern California. He lives in the Bay Area with his wife and their two sons.
